I MADE IT FOR YOU, MUM

Boris might not have set us free – but at least this Mothering Sunday (14th March) you’ll be able to see Mum for a stroll outside one-on-one or, if you’re in her Bubble, treat her to a special restaurant-quality meal, you’ve (almost) cooked yourself.

Fast-growing pub group, Oakman Inns, has recently launched their exciting new ‘Makeaway’ meal boxes, Oakman At Home. Delivered nationwide, they offer a range of their popular dishes where the fresh top-quality ingredients have been prepped by their chefs and only require some easy finishing touches to recreate your favourite restaurant-quality meal at home.

This year, with their pubs still closed, their award-winning Chef Director, Ross Pike, and his team have created a special three-course Mother’s Day Makeaway Feast to deliver direct to your door. The starter features a choice of Vegetarian or Prosciutto Pide – an Italian flatbread dough covered with ricotta, cherry tomatoes, courgette ribbons, rocket, and basil pesto, pickled celeriac, and pickled pink onions. Before she’s even tasted the main course, Mum will think you’re a star baker!

Spring Roast Chicken follows with a special herb and sausage meat stuffing, complete with all the trimmings – duck-fat roasties and fresh seasonal vegetables. They have even deboned the chicken, so you don’t need to show Mum your carving skills! For dessert, Ross has included his famous sticky toffee pudding with rich toffee sauce and double cream custard.

Delicious and simple, just get the oven going and follow the easy-to-follow instructions. There’s also a Mushroom Wellington vegetarian option if you prefer, and everything is delivered in safe, chilled, entirely biodegradable and environmentally friendly packaging. Yet another thing you won’t have to worry about.

You can upgrade the £25 per person meal by adding a cheese course or if you’ve forgotten the celebratory fizz, Oakman at Home can supply everything from Prosecco to Perrier Jouet.

Ross Pike commented: “My chefs have selected the best ingredients to give you the best chance of showing your Mum that she’s the best.”

Visit www.oakmanathome.co.uk to order by midnight on Sunday 7th March for free UK Mainland delivery on either Friday 12th March or Saturday 13th March anywhere in the UK. From £50 for two.

Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in the UK and elsewhere since the Middle Ages. Even then, the 4th Sunday of Lent was a day to visit the place where you were baptised – your “Mother Church” – and to honour, just before Easter, your mother. Buckinghamshire-born Constance Adelaide Smith re-established Mothering Sunday in 1913, as a widely observed day throughout Great Britain.
